Richard
S. Christiansen Brings Exceptional NASA Expertise to Sierra Lobo
MILAN,
OH. Sierra Lobo, Inc. is pleased to
announce that Richard S. Christiansen has joined the company as a Vice
President. Christiansen brings a
wealth of Government expertise to the company, particularly at NASA, and will
be responsible for strategic planning within the Government sector and also
for Program Management for major contracts.
In addition, he will be instrumental in opening Sierra Lobo’s new
Hampton Roads, VA office.

From
2003 to 2007, Christiansen was Deputy Director of NASA’s Glenn Research
Center (GRC). He was responsible for
programs in aeronautical research and space technology developments for
power, propulsion, communications, and microgravity sciences. He also led the Center in budget planning,
facilities master planning, workforce strategy, and procurement. Prior to his tenure at GRC, Christiansen
served as Associate Director at Dryden Flight Research Center, Program Director,
and (acting) Associate Administrator for Office of Aeronautics and Space
Transportation Technology, and Project Manager at NASA Ames’ Full Scale Wind
Tunnel Complex.
Since
retiring from NASA in 2007, Christiansen held the position of Vice President
of Aerospace Programs at Crown Consulting, Inc., a small business in
Virginia. He is an Associate Fellow of
the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
